Christine Enns balances performing and teaching in the greater Los Angeles area. She received her B.A. in music from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and received her teaching credential in Music k-12 from The Master's College. She studied conducting under the direction of Dr. Thomas Davies, vocal performance under Jacalyn Kreitzer, and vocal jazz improvisation from Dr. Paul Rinzler and jazz vocalist, Madeline Eastman.
Christine Enns is an alumnus of The Young Americans, a group that tours professionally all over the world and brings music education to public schools. She is an active member of the Santa Clarita Master Chorale and VOCO; a world music / urban roots ensemble that performs throughout the US. In May 2007, VOCO became the "Harmony Sweepstakes National Champions." In her spare time, she sings professionally with the swing band "Swingin6."
Before coming to Valencia High School as the choir director, Christine Enns was the music and drama teacher at Castaic Elementary School and recently directed the plays "The Magical Land of Oz" and "Cinderella." At the same time Enns was also the choir director at the Wiseburn School District located in El Segundo (near Los Angeles) where she taught third grade through eighth grade students.
Christine Enns has been teaching private classical, pop, and jazz voice instruction for 13 years. She also enjoys adjudicating and being a member of the Southern California Vocal Association and serving as secretary of the California Music Educators Association Southern Section. In her spare time, Mrs. Enns directs the Santa Clarita Vocal Jazz Workshop where high school students le arn the basics of jazz improvisation and perform with professional musicians. Christine resides with her husband in Valencia, California.
